Advertisers Court Gay Consumers

First, let me say that I hope everyone had a good Pride weekend! As we’ve reached the conclusion of Pride Week last week, I thought I should give my two cents on this article from NPR yesterday.

Marketers and advertisers do not make a lot of ads targeted to the LGBT community. But maybe we should make stride. You can count the number of ads that are targeted to same-sex. Most of them are liquor ads.

Welcome Back to TV, Gap!

Gap’s “Back to Blue” campaign will be returning to TV after a 4 year hiatus. Two ad spots were seen via Gap’s Twitter page last night.

One ad features Billy Joel’s daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, singing “Just The Way You Are” by her father’s 1977 hit classic, and Dhani Harrison, George Harrison’s son of the Beatles with “For You Blue.”
