Feed Me: It feels good to win!

Today was the day I got to see Sara Bareilles! I’m actually still kind of in awe about the moment. It’s just pretty rare that you actually get to meet someone you listen to on the radio.

My coworkers and I left early from work just to get to Hotel De Anza on time. It took us about half an hour to get to Downtown San Jose, which was incredibly surprising, especially on a Friday afternoon. By the time we got there, there were already two people waiting, and about another hour to wait.

Let me just tell you my whole experience about meeting Ms. Bareilles:

Going to a concert is different. You most likely would not actually “see” the artist you’re seeing, therefore, the chance of meeting them is rather slim. You also pay for the chance to “see” them. However, winning from a radio station was totally unexpected. It is a pretty rare opportunity. Rare, because I normally wouldn’t try to call, but I felt like a million bucks. You get a different feeling. Like – you’re special.

I know I’m digressing quite a bit.

Seeing one of your favorite artists perform upclose and personal, and literally right in front of your face is different. You get to randomly blurt out some things and she will more likely respond to you. The atmosphere is more intimate, and you do get to enjoy the music more.

She sang three new songs from her upcoming album and a couple of old ones including “Love Song” of course, and my favorite, “Gravity” which she closed with. =) I believe she likes that song too. If you listen to the words of the song, it just touches you, right here [pats fist on chest near the heart].

I felt really lucky, and to share the experience with my friends who are also fans of Sara Bareilles just made this day mucho excelente!
